🍎🐍 Art As A Consequence #21
🌐 The best in art, crypto and sometimes luxury. Meet you in the email body.
Welcome to the 21st edition of the ART AS A CONSEQUENCE weekly briefing. What a week and what a Sunday morning! Remember the time when Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons were taking over the world with simultaneous exhibitions throughout the continents? Well, we are experiencing the same with Joel Mesler - who may I add looks incredible after the weight loss (and shave)! The time has come for Chromie Squiggle’s final mint (sentimental as I use my Squiggle for AAAC; Art As A Consequence), and Twitter reacts to Donald Trump’s attempt assassination. All of that and more below. So, grab a snack 🍎 and happy scrolling.
Lol (lots of love),

Notable news from the art world 🦋✨
🍎 “I am healthy, I am wealthy, I am divine. Everything comes to me at the perfect time. I am hot, I am rich, I am so fun. The universe and me are aligned.” say it with me every morning. This mights actually be Joel Mesler’s morning - or all day studio routine as his über positive and affirmation paintings are satelliting though the world right now. I have been a big Mesler admirer since seeing his show at Simon Lee gallery in London in 2018 and our paths crossed again professionally in 2020/21. Enough reminiscence like an old granny. Mesler is the man of the summer, as he recently opened a solo show at Chateau La Coste titled “Me, You and the Sunset” with attendees including his forever friend Rashid Johnson, Chris Rock, and… Bono. I am sure you are all thinking what is Damien Hirst thinking about this - is their bromance over?
Mind you, Hirst’s show, titled The Light That Shines, was also the exhibition opening for Mesler’s at the Chateau La Coste. Funny timing.
Early this month, Mesler opened a Pool Party (his exhibition title) at the Rockefeller Center and is also presenting a few paintings there too. His collaboration with Phillips’ Dropshop of six limited editions went live end of June. I must add they ain’t selling out like hot cakes. Lastly, he is currently exhibiting at Levy Gorvy Dayan in New York, with yet another creative title “Kitchens are good rooms to cry in” up until the end of July. In another collaboration, Loic Gouzer featured Mesler’s Jew painting on his Fair Warning auction. Last bid? I don’t know, they took out the past lots from the Fair Warning website. I guess art is not for the public eyes.
That’s one busy season for Mesler.
🍎 On the Levy Gorvy Dayan note, they are closing their Hong Kong gallery.

🍎 Lead by new wind, Art Basel Miami Beach (ABMB) announced its new exhibitors for December, shocker Presenhuber is not coming back — but there are 32 first time participants, marking the largest group of newcomers since 2008. Read more here.

🍎 Chromie Squiggle’s last dance at LACMA.
Erick Calderon (Snowfro) is set to mint the final Chromie Squiggle, #9999, marking the end of this generative art project. Erick has collaborated with deafbeef to create a farewell smart contract, allowing participants to be part of this moment before the NFT goes into the collection at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
From July 15th to July 22nd, people can sign the contract by sending any amount of ETH, symbolizing their eternal connection to the final mint. The process is designed to be safe and scam-free, with no website or wallet connection required.
Am I loving it?
… but then again, looking ta the Squiggle floor price tanking to 3 ETH it’s giving these vibes….
🍎 Following the news on Trump’s attempt assassination, DarkFarms and Beeple released the below:

🍒 Bonus: The Bitcoin Standard audiobook
For those following me on Instagram, you may have seen on my stories that I have started making ceramics. While working on my ceramics, I listen to fun things. I recently finished listening to Saifedean Ammous’ The Bitcoin Standard and for those who are interested exploring the subject, here is a free audiobook.
That’s all frens! 👋 toodeloo
